About Us

The aim and purpose of the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame is to honor Cornwall citizens who have, by their superior ability, effort and achievement, brought fame to Cornwall in their field of sport. The memory of their notable contribution shall be enshrined in the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame presently maintains the Wall of Fame and the Sports Gallery in the lower concourse of the Cornwall Civic Complex. The Wall of Fame displays the pictures of those citizens who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame in their particular sport or category. New inductees are accepted into the Hall of Fame every two years at an Induction Dinner.

The Sports Gallery displays pictures in all of the sports categories as well as "Canadian Champions" and the "NHL connection". In addition, artifacts are collected and displayed.

The Board of Directors has begun a project to greatly increase the number of pictures and artifacts in the gallery and to enhance the overall presentation in the gallery. The project's initial funding comes from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Additional sponsors will be sought to help complete the 5-year plan to complete and maintain the project.
