Arthur Blanchard was a real Champion when it came to endurance on his snowshoes.

He won many races and one was from Cornwall to Ottawa on January 29th, 1955 – a distance of 78 miles. He walked under the Cornwall colours of the Grey Wolves.

He trekked from Sherbrooke, Quebec to Lewiston, Maine – a non-stop grind in a driving blizzard of 168 miles. The state troopers could not make him stop for a rest. This race was on January 24th, 1956.
