Stanley “Stan” Burke was born in Toronto in 1928.
He was one of Cornwall’s outstanding golfers.
The following are some of his records: Cornwall Golf & Country Club Champion – 1937, 1941, 1942, 1947, and 1949; Club Captain, Chairman of Matches and Handicap committee 1960-1961; One time Amateur Record Holder – Low Gross 69; St. Lawrence District Golf Association winner 36 holes – Low Gross – 1937 and 1938; Cornwall Team, Member of 6 men – 20 years; Association President 1952 and 1960.
