Sean Clarke
Sport: Basketball
Year Inducted: 2008

Sean Clarke is a name that will forever be synonymous with basketball excellence in Cornwall.

Sean was the leader of Cornwall’s St. Joseph’s Secondary School basketball teams throughout his high school tenure. He led the team in scoring in all but one year and that translated into a handful of S. D. & G. Championships taking the reigns from C.C.V.S. to St. Joe’s as a local basketball dynasty.

Sean set numerous school records that still stand a generation after he graduated. Along with his younger brother Mike, Sean left an everlasting impression on high school basketball in Cornwall.

Sean was courted by basketball Hall of Fame coach Jerry Welsh to attend Iona University, but decided to further his basketball and academic careers at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

In university, Sean became a defensive specialist, and often played against the top scorer on other teams with the sole job to shut them down. He was a member of the 1993 CIAU Champions, and was among the top players in the country in field goal percentage his graduating year.

Sean also spent several summers giving back to the sport he loves by helping team basketball at youth camps.
