Tilden Donihee’s hockey career began in local grade and high school leagues.

As a junior, he played for the Holy Name Society team which won three Citizen Shields from 1929 to 1933.

Tilden moved to senior hockey as centre with the Cornwall Colts and then joined the famous Senior “A” Cornwall Flyers team, which reached the semi-finals for the Allan Cup.

During his local career, Tilden played hockey with such star players as Fred Gardner, Pete Gillies, Connie Brown, Harvey McLelland, and Mike McMahon which is an indication of the strength of Senior hockey at the time and a tribute to Tilden’s talent.

Tilden excelled in several other sports such as Senior City Tennis where he was Singles Champion in 1934.

He was a member of the city Champion Holy Name softball team, and played senior lacrosse from 1933 to 1935.
