Donald (Don) St. Louis Sr.

Donald “Don” St. Louis Sr., born in 1912, was one of Cornwall’s best WelterWeights.

He fought for 15 years winning the Golden Gloves and the army Championship over Taffy Locks and Sergeant John Racicot in district no.3.

Don won the Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec Championship in 1934. He also had three fights with Chief Flying Cloud. They were big drawing cards at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Don trained his three sons, Leo, Don Jr., and Joe who were all outstanding boxers.

Don fought 10 professional fights. He fought men much over his weight.

For many years he was head trainer and coach for different clubs.
