Morris “Mugie” Whitford Sr., born 1917, spent his childhood days at the athletic grounds and he developed himself into a star first base man in fastball and baseball.
Mugie was strong at bat. He had a snap throw that many players envied. He could play any place on the diamond.
He also played hockey and lacrosse. Mugie played for 15 seasons.
